The Retro Room Bank Holiday Weekend Arcade Spectacular!
Announcing our biggest weekend event to date May 23rd to 25th, a three day retro arcade and the launch of Belfast's first Tabletop Football Club at the fantastic Northern Lights!
Greetings! It's been a busy month at the Retro Room with lots of new games restored, a good few fix ups and new arrivals including a truly rare find from 1979. Leaving the workshop are a lovely Bomb Jack and Shinobi all ready for the arcade floor. Up next are a 4 player Mexico 86, our long term Tehkan World Cup restoration is nearly there and we're working on a Flying Shark, a Gradius, a Space Firebird cocktail and a Scramble too! We're gonna need a bloody big arcade at the end of all this!
In fix ups our Bubble Bobble will be returning as will a Bionic Commando that's been flaky for a while and never made it out.
And in new arrivals we have a Tournament Arkanoid, a Tekken pedestal and a really, really rare Starfire Cockpit from 1979. We took a risk on this barn find that might have been in shocking condition but really, given that it's not far off 50 years old, it's in great nick! A long term project for sure but we're sure we'll never see another one.
All in all we'll be changing it up quite a bit on the arcade floor for the next Retro Room arcade at the Northern Lights once more from May 23rd to May 25th.
Introducing the Belfast Tabletop Football Club - Liverpool FC Istanbul and League Title Celebration!
Liverpool fans unite! Since the Belfast Kop celebration is sold out join us to wash the Trent announcement out of your mouths at our first Belfast Tabletop Football Club on Sunday May 25th from 6pm at the Northern Lights, exactly 20 years to the day since the iconic Istanbul Champion's League comeback to end all comebacks against AC Milan.
We'll be showing the classic Istanbul game on the big screen while celebrating Liverpool lifting their 20th league trophy earlier that day. As well, we'll be hosting a Road to Istanbul Subbuteo tournament. Chose your European giant and go on a path to glory. Will art imitate life and Liverpool will win? Who knows? It could be Monaco, Olympiacos, Juventus or, and God we hope it's not, Chelsea who make it in this re-run. Never played Subbuteo? Don't worry it's very quick to pick up and is amazing fun!
We'll also have a universe of football games from great tabletop titles like Binho and Plakks, classic arcade cabs Super Sidekicks, Virtua Striker 2 and Mexico 86 as well as all of the classic console titles from FIFA to Pro Evo to Sensible Soccer, Fever Pitch, Red Card, Ronaldo V Football, Match Day 2 on the Spectrum and many others.
