Mission Briefing - Level Two!

Things have been a bit quiet around here so we thought we'd give you a quick update on where we're at with the Retro Room. First off we've been knee deep in '80s dust getting the games ready for the new premises. What we're working on as we speak...

  • Getting our Operation Thunderbolt up and going. In general original boards are damn flaky. We've two Operation Thunderbolt boards and neither of them are reliable. They'll work sometimes but get to level three and it'll flake out. How do you fix and test that exactly?!! As a result we've gone mad and are wiring Arduinos and pis to give this old classic new life. More to come on that soon.
  • Getting our Mexico 86 four player working. Again we've gone through a rake of original boards and none of them have the fourth player! Too many to mention. We're working on an upgrade solution for this football classic, it's nearly there!
  • We've finally, after a near year long search, tracked down everything we need for our Marble Madness machine. The bits are on their way from Italy and this ball rolling beauty will be playable once more.
  • We've restored a huge Pars Video cab into the Punisher. The screen is huge you're gonna love it.
  • Our super rare Tehkan World Cup cocktail is now fully operational. We made a call the purists might not like and replaced the track balls with joysticks. The simple reason was it's a far far better game with joysticks than it is with trackballs which is likely why we never ever saw the trackball version back in the day. No one loves this game more than us trust us, we've made the better choice here despite sacrificing a little bit of originality to do so.
  • We've very advanced plans for a DDR type setup in the new place along with our much loved Guitar Hero setup.

Our next email will be telling you all about the new premises we promise. But first we're off to Shredenhams and Playback Arcade in Bristol for a bit of inspiration!
