One Month In And We're Finding Our Marbles
We've been in our new home at Cityside for a month and what a mad time it's been. Like any new business we've hit up against some challenges but it's been absolutely great to welcome so many people through our doors and even better to see them leave with a big smile on their face!
A lot of people are enjoying joining us on this nostalgia trip and that's really what it's all about. We couldn't be more proud! And a big shout out to our new folk in Gary, Rogan, Eve and Leah who are the people being praised in those great reviews. We've built a great wee team even if we do say so ourselves!
Our Halloween Spooktacular Is Hotter Than Hell!
Our first adults only event will take place this Halloween weekend Friday 31st and Saturday 1st with games so scary, bloody and down-right disgusting you’ll need to leave the kids at home!
Join us from 8pm to midnight on Friday 31st and Saturday 1st, and feel free to bring some drinks along too, as we load up our arcade cabinets, consoles and PCs with first person shooter classics like Blood and Hexen, gore soaked shooters like House of the Dead Overkill, creep out classics like Doom 3 and Silent Hill and hack and slash horror classics like Splatterhouse. Our showpiece will be the fan made classic fighter Terrordrome. Pick your favourite horror icon from the golden age of gore and maim your way to victory, finishing with a fearsome fatality if you know those button combos!
Our new seated outside area will also be open with a rake of tabletop terrors like Friday the 13th, Silent Night, Deadly Night the Game, Zombies, House on Haunted Hill, Atmosfear and more.
Come in costume and you’ll be able to win a big bag of goodies from our pals at Comic Book Guys and Black Axe Throwing! And we’ll have some secret scares happening on the nights too, the Belfast Michael Myers will be haunting Cityside on Saturday 1st. Who knows where he'll pop up! Only £25 for four hours of disgusting craic!
Giant Guitar Hero Returns!
We know how much you love your Giant Guitar Hero and it's back with its own dedicated corner in the Retro Room. Some show off was doing tapping on one of the guitars, we were well jel (seriously he was like the Steve Via of Guitar Hero it was amazing.)
Games Popped, Others Got Fixed!
Such is the way with old technology we lost Pac-man (it's back!), Donkey Kong (it's coming back!), Enduro Racer, Space Invaders and Mexico 86 (it's back!) to the ravages of age and new use, meantime we've fully restored our Tehkan World Cup cocktail (only one in an arcade in the UK we think?), almost fully restored our Marble Madness and are getting closer with Space Ace we'll be rotating some of the games in the coming weeks both to fix stuff and freshen things up a bit!
